The Creation of Adam 1 Michelangelo Sistine Chapel Figurine
Product Description
L: 8" Cold Cast Marble-like Resin
This figurine is adapted from the Creation of Adam (also commonly called the Creation of Man), a fresco painted by Michelangelo circa 1511 that appears on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. It illustrates the Biblical story from the Book of Genesis in which God the Father breathes life into Adam, the first man. Adam's left arm is extended in a pose mirroring God's, a reminder that man is created in the image and likeness of God (Gen 1:26).
The quality of the casting of this figurine is excellent, with good detail, and the cold cast resin has a natural sheen and weight and will blend well with authentic and more expensive antique pieces.
